Privacy Policy

Khetiyaar respects your privacy and complies with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. This page explains what we collect, why, and your rights — in plain language.

What We Collect

  • Phone number — to send the OTP that signs you in and (for sellers) to let buyers contact you on the marketplace.
  • Farm profile — your name, location (precise or approximate), soil type, crops, land size, and home-garden setup.
  • Photos and audio — crop / disease photos, marketplace listing photos, brand logos, license documents, and (with permission) microphone audio when you use voice features.
  • Device and usage info — device model, OS, language, push notification token, in-app actions, coin balance, transaction history, and crash logs.

How We Use It

  • Authenticate you and personalise AI crop plans, garden plans, daily tasks, and the chat assistant.
  • Show local weather, agricultural alerts, and marketplace listings near your location.
  • Process coin top-ups, brand verification, dealer-locator inquiries, and marketplace transactions between farmers, dealers, and brands.
  • Send push notifications you've enabled, fix bugs through crash reports, and improve the app using aggregated, non-identifying analytics.

AI and Your Data

  • When you ask the AI a question, send a crop photo, or generate a plan, your input is forwarded to trusted AI providers solely to compute the response.
  • We do not permit our AI vendors to train their public models on your inputs.
  • Your AI history (chats, plans, diagnoses) stays linked to your account — you can delete it any time by deleting your account.
  • AI guidance is advisory and not a substitute for a qualified agronomist, veterinarian, or licensed agro-input dealer.

Data Sharing

  • We never sell your personal data and we do not display third-party ads inside Khetiyaar.
  • Trusted sub-processors that help us run the app: image hosting, crash reports, weather data, push notifications, payments, and SMS partners (OTP delivery).
  • Marketplace data is partly public by design: your listing photos, brand name, dealer name, and contact button are visible to buyers within your radius.
  • We disclose data to law-enforcement or regulators only when required by Indian law or to protect users from imminent harm.

Data Storage and Security

  • Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS / TLS) and at rest on our cloud infrastructure.
  • Our payments partner handles all card / UPI / net-banking details directly; we never see or store your full payment credentials.
  • Access to user data is restricted to authorised engineers and audited; we apply the principle of least privilege.
  • We retain data only as long as needed to provide the service or as required by law; closed-account data is erased or anonymised within 30 days.

Your Rights (DPDP Act 2023)

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — update inaccurate or incomplete information from inside the app or by emailing us.
  • Erasure — delete your account (which removes your data) by emailing khetiyaar@gmail.com from your registered phone or address.
  • Withdraw consent at any time — some features (location-based weather, AI plans, marketplace) may stop working without it.
  • Grievance — write to khetiyaar@gmail.com (we respond within 30 days) or escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

  • Khetiyaar is for users 18+. Under India's DPDP Act 2023, users under 18 require verifiable parental consent.
  • If we discover we've collected data from a child without consent, we delete it.

Changes to this Policy

  • We may update this policy as the app evolves; material changes will be announced inside the app and on this page.
  • Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
  • The 'Last updated' date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
